According to the latest DNA study, it may be a cross between the Beba variety and the Giró Ros, its cross with the Sabater variety would have given rise to the Mantonegro variety and its cross with the Fogoneu variety would have given rise to the Callet, Batista and Gafarró varieties, although these studies must be taken with caution.
